Communications Manager

Evitable's founder has spent years convincing experts to take AI risk seriously. Evitable’s role is to bring this work to a broader audience: sounding the alarm, loudly and publicly, with our communications work.

This is a role for someone passionate about what it means to communicate AI risk to a mass audience across platforms, not just educating people but knowing how to activate them. As Communications Manager, you will own Evitable’s day-to-day content and digital presence. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director (until a Communications Director is hired) to bring Evitable’s marketing strategy to life and build meaningful audience growth. You will be the one setting the pace for how fast and far Evitable’s message will travel.

Interest & Fit

All writing must be your own, and we will be judging final products heavily based on a writing style and creativity that does not read AI-generated. You may use any technology (including AI tools) for research and support, but be ready to discuss and defend your choices and process live.

Why do you think you're a good candidate for this role? Include similar work experience, as well as personal interest or other factors.

Role-Specific

We’d also like to ask you a couple of role-specific questions designed to help us better understand how you think and how you might approach questions such as these. Don’t overthink these, and know that we are most interested here in how you answer, rather than what.

Which channels or platforms are your favorite to post on? Why?

In a short post written for a platform of your choice, make the case to a general audience that the race towards increasingly advanced AI  can and should be stopped. Please write it in the way you would actually publish it, and include details about platform choice and any related logistics that would make it perform better.

Pick a moment from the past year when AI was in the news. What did most of the coverage and content around it miss, and what would you have done differently had you been working with Evitable?

Tell us about a channel or audience you were responsible for growing. Please include details about your impact and methodologies.
